Weddings in Vernon

Having photographed Weddings in Vernon for 20 years, Thanksgiving weekend weddings are one of my favourites. I love the beautiful fall colours, the crisp mornings, the beautiful abundance of produce and a time to reflect on everything we are to be thankful for in our lives.

This beautiful couple, Jamie and Johanna planned their intimate ceremony and celebration as a destination wedding. Being from Vancouver, they chose the intimate Countrytyme Gardens and restaurant as the backdrop for their beautiful morning ceremony and reception.

I hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting Jamie and Johanna before their wedding day and what I was immediately struck by was their beautiful love story and the love they have for their family. They also exuded a joy and peacefulness that went beyond the rainy day they experienced for their ceremony and portraits. Apart from seeing some umbrellas in their portraits, I don’t think most people would even know it was raining because they looked amazing (I on the other hand look very disheveled when it rains) and their beautiful smiles and disposition shone through the weather.

Their beautiful fur baby Luna stole many moments and she was just the best girl at containing her excitement that mom and dad were getting married.

Jamie and Johanna’s love story is one for the storybooks. Friends in high school, they reconnected a few years ago and realized that their high school friendship was the bases for a great love story. I love stories that remind you how beautiful life can be.
